September 7, 2017
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to a new school year. We hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer. We are pleased to announce that once again our school has received funding from Councilman Mark Treyger to have the ExpandEd Program (formerly known as TASC) After-School Program.
As in the past, the ExpandEd Program, along with the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island, will partner with P.S.101 in providing extra Literacy and Mathematics, as well as the Arts. The instructional part of the program includes standardized test preparation, homework help and peer tutoring on Monday’s and Tuesday’s, while the Wednesday and Thursday part of the week will focus on the Performing Arts such as Dance, Drama, Art and Chorus.
Applications are now on-line at the link below. All potential participants will then be chosen via a lottery- based system.
If your child is chosen from the lottery based system, you will be notified and given forms to complete before the start date. Please note that this is a four-day week program with attendance expected each day. If your child displays poor attendance they will be excluded from the program.
The Google Form can be accessed with the following link:
Application Deadline: September 22, 2017.
If you do not have access to a computer, please come to PS 101’s Main Office and See Mrs. Mastrianni on September 14 or 15, from 3:00 until 4:30 to register for the lottery in person.
