Autism Awareness Day – Light it up BLUE – April 2nd, 2019

Little Lighthouse – School Spirit Day – Autism Awareness 2019

Dear PS 101 Families:

We always want to strive to demonstrate a sense of community and family that unite together to celebrate.

Our united school spirit will show support as a form of expression.

Here are some upcoming Spring School Spirit Events for the month of APRIL.

We need your support and full participation with each special day, so please make every effort to adhere to the color/theme and share in the fun!

Tuesday, April 2nd

Autism Awareness Day – Please light-it up BLUE to support Autism Awareness!

Let’s Light It Up BLUE in support of Autism Awareness and wear your favorite shade of blue.  On Tuesday, April 2nd, a national movement to show solidarity and bring awareness to autism will be held and we are asking all of our families to celebrate with our 101 family on Tuesday, April 2nd.

We care about children and want to celebrate the different ways we educate our students and various ways in which students learn.  Autism and other forms of disability are part of the human experience that contributes to human diversity.

Autism Speaks, an autism research and education organization, announced the launch of the inaugural Light It Up Blue Campaign in 2010.  This initiative is intended to raise international awareness of autism in support of both World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month in the United States.

WEAR BLUE on Tuesday, April 2nd — Show your love and support!

We look forward to sharing in these special days! Participate and get some School Spirit at 101!
