Mandatory Daily Student Health Screenings-At home Parent Responsibility

Greetings PS 101 Families-

I wanted to share with you a letter from the Chancellor, which contains information about the health screening process, including the health screening survey and daily temperature checks, as well as other helpful information on how to stay healthy and safe while in and out of school: Update for Families_September 21 2020

Translations will be available on the Messages for Families page of our family-facing website.

Key take-aways for students who are coming to school:

  1. You must do a daily health Screening on-line at healthscreening.schools.nyc before entering school AND show it upon entry
  2. You must take your child’s temperature daily before coming to school. Thermometers will be given out the first week of school
  3. In order to keep everyone healthy and slow the spread of COVID-19, students will not be able to attend in-person classes if they have:
    o Experienced any symptoms of COVID-19, including a fever of 100.0 degrees F or greater, a new cough, new loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath within the past 10 days;
    o Received a positive result from a COVID-19 test that tested saliva or used a nose or throat swab (not a blood test) in the past 10 days;
    o Been in close contact (within 6 feet for at least 10 minutes) with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 or who has or had symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days; or
    o Traveled internationally or from a state with widespread community transmission of COVID-19 per the New York State Travel Advisory in the past 14 days.

The only way to make this year a health and safe one is if everyone does their part. We are all in this together.
