PS 101 CARES! We care about our 101 family and our environment. We want to prompt awareness for an environmentally friendly way of living. Earth Day is soon approaching on April 22nd! Let’s recycle and show we care, not only on Earth Day, but every day!
The Little Lighthouse Team has set up various recycling containers in the main entrance to help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Containers have been prepared near the security desk, in our main entrance. Students can stop and drop recycling items in our school OR students may give these items to their teachers to stop and drop when the class is going to and from lunch.
Items that are being collected for recycling:
- Unwanted Crayons: through our partnership with Crazy Crayons
- Writing Utensils: through our partnership with BIC Terracycle Program.
- What you can recycle: All brands of empty writing instruments (pens/markers), glue sticks, watercolor dispensers, paint sets, and flexible packaging
- Batteries: through Home Depot
- Printer Toner/Ink Cartridges: through Staples

Thank you for your help in improving our community!
