Building Your Child’s Home Library Family Workshop

Dear PS 101 Families:

You are cordially invited to join us for a Family Workshop on Building Your Child’s Home Library on Saturday, January 28th at 10:15 AM.  (Please view our flyer.)

Come have your family register for a FREE library card with our local librarian, Ms. O’Leary! Did you know this card doubles as a powerful culture pass to many of NYC’s best museums and sites?! Did you also know that your NYC students’ account has access to SORA – a FREE online library? Join us to learn about these resources to help you build up literacy at home! At the end of the event, every child will also be allowed to take home 10+ new or used books for FREE!

This workshop is free but space is limited to 25 families. (If it is popular, we will host a duplicate event in the future.) Online Registration is REQUIRED and opens tomorrow, Saturday the 14th here: parent per family is required to attend with their child(ren). A light breakfast will be served.

Translators for Chinese, Russian and/or Spanish will be present. Other languages can also be requested! الترجمة متاحة! 翻译可用!Доступен перевод! ¡Traducción disponible! ترجمہ دستیاب ہے! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Rivera at

Our books were generously sponsored by both the Brooklyn Book Bodega, whose mission is to increase the number of books homes for kids 0-18 in NYC, and by the Book Fairies of LI who sources and redistributes books to under-resourced communities on Long Island and New York City to provide equitable opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive.

We hope you’ll be able to join us!

Please be prepared to show valid ID and proof of COVID vaccination upon entry to the building.

Thank you for your cooperation.
