Don’t Sweat the Test!

Don’t Sweat the Test – Parent Letter 2019

DON’T SWEAT THE TEST!

Dress in your comfy sweatshirts and sweatpants

to take your state tests!

Dear PS 101 Families:

Our third, fourth and fifth graders are ready to take their ELA standardized state exams next week. In order to create comfortable and cozy days for testing, we are encouraging all students and staff to wear their comfy sweats on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3.

Dressing in your comfy favorites will ensure our students are relaxed in their sweatshirts/sweatpants and take on the test with confidence. We want our students to celebrate all they have learned and to always remember, DON’T SWEAT THE TEST!

Sincerely,

Gregg Korrol

Principal

Bowling Club for Grades 3, 4 & 5

Bowling Letter 2019

Dear P.S. 101 Parents and Guardians,

P.S. 101 would love to give grades 3, 4 and 5 the opportunity to join a weekly bowling team. Bowling is a great way for kids to make friends and learn how to synergize. In order to create a bowling league, we would like to have an idea of how many students would be interested in becoming a member of this club. If there are enough dedicated students who want to join, staff members will contact local bowling alleys in Bensonhurst to find out the specific details. Although staff members will be present, parents/guardians are expected to supervise their child.

If your child is interested in becoming a member of P.S. 101’s bowling team, please complete and send in the tear off slip below by 4/03/2019. In the upcoming weeks, there will be an updated letter that will be sent home confirming if there will be a team, which will provide more information.

Grade 3 Performance – The Science of Stuff: Matter and Its Properties

3rd Grade Science Show

November 9, 2018

Dear Grade 3 Parents/Guardians:

It is with great pleasure to announce that your child will be performing in the upcoming production of The Science of Stuff: Matter and Its Properties.  Please join us for a musical performance that will educate your child about scientific matter and its many properties through the realm of the ARTs.

Your child has been working extremely hard on this production for the past two months, whether he or she is acting, singing, or dancing in this performance.  They are excited to bring this production to life on stage for students, staff, and of course you, the parents.

At this time, we are reaching out to you for some assistance in providing some of the basic costume pieces for this production.  You may have some of the suggested items at home and some of the things your child will be able to wear again when the show is over.

Please have your child wear the following items to school on December 5th, 2018, it would be greatly appreciated.

Items to be worn by all 3rd grade students:

  1. Blue denim jeans/Blue pants
  2. White Polo Shirt/White button shirt

*It would be best for your child to wear black or brown shoes on the day of the performance.  Please no sneakers.

Thank you in advance for your attention and cooperation.  We are excited to have you take part in your child’s performance.  An invitation to this performance has already been sent home with your child.

Sincerely,

Mr. DeMarco, Ms. Russo, Ms. Bove and Ms. Mastrianni
