Soft-Lock Down Drill – Parent Letter

December 10, 2020

Dear PS 101 Parents/Guardians:

Please be advised we will be holding our second Building Response Team drill during the month of December. The drill will be unannounced to better prepare our staff and students to follow procedures with emergency preparedness. The soft-lockdown drill will consist of students and staff understanding the command code for our General Response Protocol. Students are to follow teacher directions for a mock emergency in the building. Students will remain silent and quickly move out of sight and away from the door in the classroom. Teaching staff are trained to quickly retrieve any students in the hallway and lock their classroom door and wait for an ALL CLEAR announcement. Again, this is a drill and we want students and staff to become familiar with the drills so we are prepared in case of a real emergency situation.

Please review lockdown procedures with your child. Thank you for your cooperation in advance to ensure a safe learning environment for all.

Very truly yours,

Gregg Korrol,

Principal
