Partial Class Closures at PS 101

Dear PS 101 Families,

A Partial Class Closure occurs when select students in a classroom are identified as possible close contacts of a person who tested positive for COVID19.

Several classes were identified today as a having a Partial Class Closure, and if your child is effected, you were already contacted using REMIND by your child’s teacher.
***Please ensure to check REMIND daily for updates***

When a student is deemed a close contact and quarantined, they are to quarantine for 10 days from the date of exposure. Further information is sent by the Department of Health regarding dates.

To return to school:
1) Fully Vaccinated students who can pass the Health Screener may report to school and remain in school. Fully vaccinated means the child had two shots and it is two weeks after their second shot.
2) Unvaccinated students may get tested on the 5th day of quarantine, and if they get a negative result, may return on the 8th day.
3) If you choose to not have your child tested, you may return on the 11th day after 10 days of quarantine.
**Please be advised students who were notified today will return after the winter recess on January 3rd as their quarantine period finishes during Winter recess.

When there is a partial class closure, students may not get direct instruction on line but are expected to do the work that is posted for them. If enough students are quarantined as part of a partial class closure, there may be on-line direct instruction with your child’s teacher. Please check Remind and Google Classroom for more information.
