Social Distancing 2021-2022

Dear PS101 Families-

As we still are targeting CDC guidance for social distancing, our target is 3 feet apart.

To make this happen, we have decided to add an additional class onto each grade 1-5 this year which will mean we will have 6 classes per grade instead of 5. Doing this will allow for less students in each class (approximately 24-27, instead of the usual 30-32) and give us a little more space between each person in a classroom. For classes that may not allow the reduction of students because they are special classes such as Dual Language, we will use larger classrooms to maintain the targeted 3ft.

We will also be looking at ways to create 3ft social distancing for larger gatherings such as lunch and morning arrival. This may mean adding an additional lunch period and staggering arrival as we did last year. As we get closer to the start of school and more information comes forward from the NYCDOE, we will ensure we are ready and able to create a successful enriching school year for our students and their parents.

Our goal, as always, is to create a safe and amazing educational experience for our community.
