Set up your Child’s PS 101 Email account by Sept 15: Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and new admits

Dear Parents and Guardians of Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and new admits to PS 101,

You are now able to set up your child’s  email account.  Your child will need this email to participate in the Remote Learning which all students will have at some point during the week.  Please set this up before September 15, 2020 so that your child is ready for the first days of Remote Learning on September 16, 17 and 18.

The Department of Education would like all students city wide to have the same email domain. This will allow  your child to take their login credentials with them when they graduate and use them for High School.

Single Sign On!

One other benefit to this  is that students will only need one login to access all of their remote learning applications. So no more worrying about having to remember separate logins for things like Pearson Math, Google Classroom, etc. Once your child logs in with their account they will be able to access these applications right from their dashboard.

To get started you will need to retrieve your NYC DOE Student Account.  It’s easy!  Follow the instructions below.  

DOE Student Account Retrieval Instructions

  1.   START by clicking on the Student Account Self Service link:
  1.   Enter your 9-digit Student ID (OSIS) number:
    You can access your child’s 9 digit OSIS number by calling 718-935-5100
    You can Email: with your child’s name, grade and birthday and Mrs.Cino will reply within 24-48 hours with your child’s 9 Digit OSIS#
  2.   Enter your birthday.
  3.   Click Continue.
  4.   If the information you enter matches your student record, your username will be displayed.
  5.   Your student ID is your username followed by For example, if your username is JaneD, your student account ID might be or
  6.   You will be asked to set up a password that only you will know.
  7.   Re-enter your password.
  8. Click Update Password.

Good day September Pre-K and Kindergarten Parents!

I have received many emails and texts regarding how to obtain your email for your students.

Please be advised that due to the way the NYCDOE admits students, we cannot issue your email until your child enters PS 101 on the first day of school in September.

During the first week of school, you will get an email assigned to your child.

PS 101 Student Email accounts

Dear PS 101 Families,

As you know, safety is always our first concern at PS 101. It has been reported that many students are beginning to create email chains / threads to other students and using their email inappropriately (not maliciously, but in a silly-kid way). As a result, we are going to shut down student emails either permanently or until such time that we can figure out a better solution.

Parents, as a reminder, you can continue to contact your child’s teacher through Google Classroom or Remind.
