Respect for All Week

RESPECT FOR ALL WEEK: FEBRUARY 9TH – FEBRUARY 13TH

Dear PS 101 Families:

PS 101 and the NYC Department of Education are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment that is free from harassment, intimidation and/or bullying and from discrimination based on actual or perceived race, color, citizenship/immigration status, religion, creed, national origin disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, or weight. This year’s Respect for All Week is Monday, February 9, 2026 to Friday, February 13, 2026. At PS 101, Our teachers will include learning activities to infuse Respect for All initiatives with lessons planned for this special week.

Scheduled events and activities to celebrate Respect and Kindness:

The Great Kindness Challenge – PS 101 is participating in the Great Kindness Challenge during Respect for All Week. The checklists will be sent home with each student and offer many suggestions and ideas for acts of kindness.
VIDEO and DISPLAY Choice Contest: Classes will be participating in a video and/or display contest with the theme of Respect this week. Voting will occur and winning classes will receive a prize!
Respect and Kindness Morning Announcements – Little Lighthouse Team members will be sharing special morning announcements for each day of the week.
Respect for All week takes place in February, which is also Black History Month. Please see WordPress post here for home resources.
School Spirit Days –
○ Monday, February 9 – BE A PIECE OF THE PEACE! WEAR Tie-dye or peace signs!
○ Tuesday, February 10 – WE FIT TOGETHER! WEAR PS 101 school colors (BLUE) or a puzzle piece!
○ Wednesday, February 11 – WE ALL BELONG! WEAR something that represents your culture or heritage!
○ Thursday, February 12 – WORDS MATTER! WEAR positive messages or affirmation shirts!
○ Friday, February 13 – KINDNESS CONNECTS US! WEAR RED or PINK for Love Day/Valentine’s Celebration!
