Welcome to a new year at PS 101! January is a time for fresh starts and renewed goals for the remainder of the school year. Below you’ll find important dates and upcoming events to help you plan for the month ahead.

Tuesday, January 20th through Friday, January 23rdFDNY Fire Safety classroom visits with lessons and discussion with all classes/grades in PRE-K through 5.
Friday, January 23rd Kindergarten Applications for the 2026-2027 school year closes in MySchools.nyc.
Friday, January 23rdSCHOOL SPIRIT DAY – TWIN DAY!
Team up with a friend or group to dress alike – like twins! Choose a friend or group to “twin” with. Plan a matching outfit together: shirts, headbands, colors, or full outfit to show off creativity and unity!

December brings a joyful close to the calendar year! As we wrap up 2025 together, we look forward to a month filled with learning, festive activities, and special moments that highlight the spirit of our school community.

Per NYCDOE Visitor Policy, PRE-K families must show valid ID upon entry.
Doors open at 8:30am. Show begins at 9:00 am.

ALL NYC SCHOOLS CLOSED.
School Resumes Monday, January 5th

Important Dates – November 2025

Dear PS 101 Families,

November is a time for reflection, gratitude, and connection. We’re thankful for your continued support and the strong home-school partnership that helps our students thrive. Below are the key dates and events for the month to help you stay informed.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES will be held virtually. The afternoon session will be held from 12:20 – 2:20 pm. The evening session will be held from 4:30pm – 7:00pm.
Friday, November 7thSCHOOL SPIRIT DAY – ROCK N ROLL DAY!
For our music fans … think about hair changes and style! Let’s have fun and celebrate music across the decades and genres! WEAR your favorite Rock n Roll singer or band (country, blues, pop, etc).
Tuesday, November 11thVETERAN’S DAY – NYC SCHOOLS CLOSED
Friday, November 14thSCHOOL SPIRIT DAY- HONORING OUR VETERANS!
Wear RED-WHITE-BLUE in honor of our veterans who have served our country for Veteran’s Day.

At a Glance: Grade 5 families are encouraged to complete middle school applications timely: due December 12th. Kindly note, applications for a specific talent in middle schools have an earlier deadline of November 3rd.
