Remote Instruction Day/ SnowDay
Dear PS101 families,
During the Remote school day (learning from home), please follow see below which tells you what your child’s virtual school day schedule is.
- The schedule is blended to ensure students have part of their day with live instruction and part of their day with off-line activities so that students are not sitting in front of their computer screen all day.
- What is Asynchronous instruction? This is when students have off-line activities, such as writing, drawing, work on a printout, reading, independent work, at-home treasure hunt, etc.
- What is Synchronous instruction? This is when students are on-line live with their teacher. Ensure your child is online with their camera on when live instruction is occurring as per the schedule above.
- Students follow their normal schedule of the day (whatever day of the week happens to be a Remote Instruction Day) which means students will attend their cluster period as per the normally scheduled time.
- Cluster and AIS Teachers will follow their normal schedule and teach for the first 25 min of the period live/synchronous and then give asynchronous activities for the remainder of the period.
- Related Service Providers (Speech, OT, PT, etc) follow their usual servicing schedule.
Please see below video for steps on how to log onto Google Classroom:
- Log into Teachhub using your child’s DOE credentials.
- Click the Google Classroom app under “PS101 Applications”.
- You will then be redirected to your child’s class on Google Classroom.

NYC Public School Immunization Requirements Remain Unchanged
Dear Families,
You may have seen information in the news about recent updates to federal childhood vaccination recommendations. These updates do not affect the vaccines required for school attendance in New York City. The current New York State and New York City immunization requirements for students attending school during the 2025–26 school year remain unchanged.
All existing immunization policies and procedures for student attendance remain in place. For guidance, refer to the medical immunization requirements for the 2025–26 school year document, the 2025–26 Immunization Chart for Families, and the Guidance to Schools on Immunization Compliance document.
You can find information in multiple languages about the vaccines that students must have at the start of the school year, as well as the New York City vaccine schedule for children of all ages at Immunizations.
Families with questions about their child’s immunization status should contact their school or health care provider.
