Dear PS 101 Families:

We are excited to welcome you to Back to School Night at PS 101 on Wednesday, September 30th, taking place in your child’s classroom! To best accommodate family schedules, classroom teachers, cluster teachers, ESL personnel and RTI support staff will host three identical in-person presentations at the following times.

You may attend any of the three sessions that works best for you: 4:30 PM 5:30 PM 6:30 PM

Schedule: – PS101 main entrance doors will open 5 minutes to the start of the session (4:25pm/5:25pm/6:25pm). – Teachers will begin their presentation approximately 10 minutes after (4:40pm/5:40pm/6:40pm) which allows parents time to find the classroom. – Main entrance doors will close 20 minutes after the start of each session (4:50pm/5:50pm/6:50pm). – If you arrive after the doors are closed, you will wait for the next session to begin.

Information Sessions: – Classroom routines and behavior expectations – Parent + teacher communication and partnership – Operational procedures (field trips, absence notes) – Curriculum and instruction highlights, including Into Reading/IReady/Envisions/My World/Amplify, Leader In Me and standardized test preparation. – Homework guidelines and assessment practices – A brief Q&A to close each session *Our Cluster Specialty Teachers (Dance, Science, LEGO Robotics, Physical Education, STEM, Visual Arts/Graphic Design, Library, and Music) as well as ESL personnel will also present in-person at 4:30 PM, 5:30 PM, and 6:30 PM.

Related Services Virtual Sessions: Our Related Service Providers, including Speech and Language Therapists, Social Workers, Guidance Counselors, School Psychologist will also host presentations at the same time slots: 4:30 PM, 5:30 PM, and 6:30 PM.

Kindly note, all afterschool programs housed at PS 101 (including BCA and Angel Center) will be cancelled on this day for our teaching staff to welcome parents for Back to School Night.
