Dear P.S. 101K Community,
October is recognized nationally as National Principals Month—a time dedicated to celebrating the visionary leaders who work tirelessly behind the scenes and in the hallways to ensure our schools are places where children thrive, learn, and grow. We are so incredibly fortunate to work at PS 101, an incredibly special place, and that starts in any school with the leadership provided by the principal.
Today, on behalf of our entire school staff, students, and community, we want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on our exceptional leader, Principal Gregg Korrol.
From September 2005 until present day Mr. Korrol has guided PS 101 to be one of the top elementary schools in all of NYC. Think about how different life was for our children over two decades ago, and the challenges he has overcome to find such incredible sustained success over such a long period of time. Being a school principal requires extraordinary dedication, passion, and resilience, and every building leader must find their own niche. For Mr. Korrol that was technology, stewarding in the era of 21st century classrooms and making sure his staff and students were always on the cutting edge of the next technological development that could benefit student learning.
Every single day for over two decades and counting, Mr. Korrol leads P.S. 101K with a clear commitment to academic excellence, student safety, and building a warm, welcoming environment for every child who walks through our doors. From supporting our teachers in bringing innovative instructional practices into the classroom to greeting our students with energy and enthusiasm, his leadership shapes the heart of our school.
