PS 101 Schoolwide Pizza Party!

Dear PS 101 Families,

In celebration of our Lighthouse achievement for the Leader in Me, this Friday March 24, we are hosting a schoolwide pizza party for all classes to enjoy!

All classes are being gifted a pizza party following their regular lunch time (meaning they will have lunch as per normal and later in the afternoon have pizza).

There is nothing you need to do UNLESS you don’t want your child having pizza.
If you do not want your child to have pizza, please contact your child’s teacher on Remind or by writing a note.

Pizza Party date: Friday March 24

***Please also remember it is dress like a Rock Star day 🙂

Lighthouse School

Dear PS 101 Families,

I am happy to announce that PS 101 has been designated a Lighthouse School by The Leader in Me organization which exemplars school infused leadership.

Leadership is a quality that defines a mindset. When we recognize that we are all leaders of our own lives, it brings with it responsibility, drive, and success. We have worked very hard with our students to ensure they embrace the Leadership mindset of the 7 Habits:

Can you Cook? We Need Your Help :-)

Dear P.S. 101 families,

Do you like to eat delicious food? If your answer is yes, then we have great news for you!

The Cultural Diversity team will bring the community together by creating a cookbook made by P.S. 101 families, for P.S. 101 families. This cookbook will help our community learn about the different cultures within our school through the different types of foods we eat.

To make this a success, we need your delicious recipes!
Please click on this link to submit your own recipe to be a part of 101’s cookbook!

Fundraiser

Once completed, the cookbooks will be sold and all students and families will have the opportunity to purchase one.
BONUS: All students that submit recipes will receive Vikings Pride tickets for their participation!

**Disclaimer: Only the first 101 recipes will be used in the cookbook. However, all students who submit a recipe will receive a reward of Vikings tickets and all participants will have their name included in the book.

Family Fun Night!

Dear PS 101 parents and guardians, 

We are beginning a new initiative to support you and your family called Family Fun Night!

Family Fun Night is an opportunity for your and your children to create some quality bonding time together that will create the memories your children will one day tell their children! Family Fun Night will be held the last Friday of every month (except holidays) and there is also some follow-up homework.

There are many ways you can create time together and make this a family tradition lasting for many years to come! Some ideas could be to watch a movie together, cook together, complete a puzzle together, play a board game, etc. (Suggestion: make it no phones allowed during together time)

Your Assignment: On the following Monday, your child should bring evidence of your time together (examples: a picture sent on Remind or a note of the activity signed by a parent or guardian).
