Dear PS 101 Parents and Guardians:
Thursday, April 23rd, 2026 is designated as the national Take Your Child to Work Day. This is an enriching, educational experience in which youngsters will develop important qualities and valuable traits of successful teams and workplaces.
The annual Take Your Child To Work Day event is designed to assist students in forming ideas about their future career paths. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to show students the connection between their academic achievements and success in the workforce.
If your child is accompanying you to your job to learn about your occupation, please ensure that you obtain a letter from your establishment for your child to bring to school. This absence is considered excused and will be coded as such with our attendance office with documentation from your employer.
The annual family event creates opportunities for parents/guardians to highlight their places of employment, explain their job responsibilities, introduce co-workers, discuss various career choices and spend some quality time together. We encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful and eye-opening learning opportunity with your child.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Bing Xing Lin at 1-347-563-4680 or via email at BLin9@schools.nyc.gov.
Sincerely,
Gregg Korrol

Dear PS 101 Families,
To commemorate Earth Day on April 22, PS 101 is proud to participate in a meaningful initiative that supports both our environment and children in need.
Through the Crayon Initiative, used crayons are collected, recycled, and remanufactured into new, durable crayons that are donated to children in hospitals across the country. These redesigned crayons are larger, easy to grip, and designed not to roll, bringing comfort, creativity, and joy to young patients.
We invite our PS 101 community to join us in this effort by donating any used or unwanted crayons from home. Instead of throwing them away, let’s give them a second life!
Collection Details:
Together, we can help reduce waste, protect our planet, and brighten the days of children in hospitals.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make a difference, one crayon at a time!
Donate your crayons now!
Sincerely,
Ms. Correnti, Ms. Mark and PS 101’s Little Lighthouse Team
